Since the Middle Ordovician Shihtzupu Formation and the Late Ordovician Pagoda Formation are named in 1920s,they had been considered to be conformable contact in the Sichuan Basin,Southwest China.Herein, samples from two Middle-Upper Ordovician sections around the Sichuan Basin are analyzed for their conodont biostratigraphy and carbon isotope stratigraphy. Both biostratigraphic and chemostratigraphic results indicate a gap between the Shihtzupu and Pagoda formations.
