The most serious environmental problem in Mongolia Plateau is land degradation and sand storm caused by wind erosion.The evaluation of wind erosion in regional scale has been puzzling problems in wind erosion research.In this paper,the method of FCM (fuzzy c-means clustering) is used to assess the spatial pattern of wind erosion hazard in Mongolian plateau.By the help of expert knowledge,the wind erosion hazard is classified into six grades by fuzzy clustering of four main wind erosion factors,including vegetation cover,average relief degree of land surface,the degree of soil dryness and the intensity of wind energy.
