Currently, three methods were employed for disposal of arsenic in effluent streams including: (i) Neutralization with the lime; (ii) Co-precipitation with ferric; and (iii) the synthesis of scorodite.Of these three methods, the neutralization with the lime will form the residue contained Ca3(AsO4)2.This residue can react with CO2 in the open air and release the arsenic gradually. While the co-precipitation with ferric will produce a precipitate, which has a high liquor retention and would make the solid/liquid separation very difficult [1].
