Fabrication of TiN Coatings on Nitinol Occluder for Heart Septal Defects And Its Effect On Nickel Re

  The nanostructured titanium nitride (TiN) coatings with thick titanium transition-layer was deposited on the surface of occluders at relatively lower temperature using filtered cathode arcing technique.The occluders made of nitinol mesh with and without the coatings of TiN were percutaneously implanted into hearts of sheep and pigs with catheters and delivery system.The nickel concentration of the whole blood was mearsured at one week,one month,three months and six months after implantation operation and before operation using atomic absorption spectrometry.And the nickel in neo-endocardium close to the occluders was also mearsured.
