Increasingly more demanding and very stringent operating conditions envisioned for future mechanical and tribological systems will certainly require new materials, coatings (films) and surface technologies that can provide much low friction coefficient and wear loss.Consequently, superlubricating surface engineering technologies have attracted increased attentions.Superlubcity, which was discovered by Motohisa Hirano and Kazumasa Shinjo in 1990,is the state in which friction between the two sliding surfaces can be greatly decreased to zero and the surfaces can slide without resistance to motion.Since then, many researchers have devoted to the basic and application researches in the superlubricating fields, and have obtained outstanding achievements.
