There is increasing public and professional interest in suicide clusters. The rise of modern communications systems involving global media, internet shrines, social networks and cyber-connectedness have multiplied traditional geospatial and temporal predictors of suicide cluster generation.Despite these modern threats of suicide contagion clear, empiric evidence about suicide clusters remains lacking. The extent to which cluster evidence and experiences are consistent across cultures has not been explored; international comparisons and experiences are rare.
