The production,transportation and use of NORM are likely to cause environmental problems.For example,waste gas and waste liquid discharged from NORM industry facilities,as well as the solid waste generated maybe bring environmental security issues due to the presence of enhanced radioactivity.The article compares all kinds of NORM industry facilities with the typical nuclear power plants,including in coastal areas and in the interior,on liquid effluent activity concentration and total activity data,and analyzes the effects on the environment and the public,caused by different NORM industry facilities discharging liquid waste with different radioactivity levels.
