Objective:To study the principle of diagnosis and treatmem in patients with the fractures around the knee associated with vascular and nerval injury to reduce the complications and to lower the rate of the disabled.Methods:From July 1996 to June 2006,83 cases of the fractures around the knee associated with vascular and nerval injury,of which included 36 cases of simple vascular injury,19 cases of simple nerval injury and 28 cases of injury of both,were diagnosed as earlier as possible based on clinical analysis including injury condition,clinical examination,opacification of the blood vessel,lectromyologram and Doppler-Duplex ultrasonography and treated with early repair of the injured arteries and nerves,reliable and rapid stabilization for the fractuires,intraoperative or postoperative anticoagulation,immediate fasciotomy and thorough debridement of the ischemic and necrotic muscules and soft tissue,infection prevention etc.
