The key role of editorial awareness and ability change in the development of sci-tech periodicals in the era of knowledge economy is explained. The editorial consciousness modernization includes orientation, market awareness, innovation awareness, service awareness and quality awareness. Only by having these awareness and accomplishing the transformation of corresponding abilities can the sports science and technology journal editors adapt to the revolution of sci-tech periodicals in the new era and continuously promote the sustainable development of sci-tech periodicals.
