　　Vertically aligned nanocomposite(VAN)thin films have recently attracted significant research interests for exploring fundamental physics and novel functionalities.In this talk,microstructure evolution in various VAN systems will be reviewed and discussed,ranging from highly-ordered nanocheckerboard,nanopillars embedded in matrix to nanomaze structure.
