Krüppel-like factor 8 (KLF8) is a pivotal transcription factor expressed in human placenta and can regulate cell invasion. The objective of this study was to assess whether hypoxia-reoxygenation (H/R) environment affect placental KLF8 expressional level and protein localization and to evaluate the association of KLF8 levels and trophoblast invasional activity.Human 1st trimester villous tissues from normal pregnancies and 3rd trimester placentas from pregnancies with or without preeclampsia (PE) featured by repeated H/R were used for detection of KLF8 expression and correlation with MMP-9 expression.
