Rh17S15-Rh catalysts supported on acid-treated carbon black were prepared from RhC13 by a facile method using sulphur source and reducing agent(by reduction of metal precursor salts and thio-precursors with a borohydride or other strong reducing agent), followed by an additional thermal treatment at650 ℃.The prepared catalyst comprises almost Rh17S15 crystalline phase and a zerovalent metal (Rh) phase supported on a conductive carbon.
