During the month of August 2013, a mobile Rayleigh lidar has been deployed in Lhasa and Golmud for making measurements of middle atmosphere density and temperature from 30 to 90 km over Tibetan Plateau. We will present our initial results from this scientific campaign MARMOT (Middle Atmosphere Remote Mobile Observatory in Tibet). Our measurements will be complemented by the radiosonde data and compared with the MSIS model. This will further our understandings of the middle atmosphere dynamics and processes, especially in the Tibetan Plateau area.
