Last year, former U.S. President Bill Clinton announced that it will give priority to the implementation of the new National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) for $ 495 million. To this end, the National Science and Technology Commission has also set up a special Nano Science Engineering and Technology Working Group (IWCN) composed of experts from various departments. This is because nanotechnology will have a huge impact on the economy and society in the 21st century and may lead the next industrial revolution. Our scientists have given great attention to this plan of the United States. In order to prevent our country from emerging in this area like the semiconductor industry, starting from a late start and finally being thrown behind the advanced countries, Academician Shi Changxu of the two academies proposed that “China should further increase its support for nanoscience and technology” Suggestions.
