Isolated or supported metal oxides nanostructures are widely used as catalysts to facilitate many important processes.However,the knowledge of the variation in catalytic properties for metal oxides from bulk phase to nanoparticles,sub-nanometre and even to singly dispersed one are rather limited,despite much progress in the case of transition metal catalysts.
