There is a significant decreasing in sediment load of the Yellow River,in recent 10 years especially.Reasons of which have caused the extensive concern of the scholars.Based on the daily precipitation of 26 weather stations in Hekou—Tonggnan section of the Yellow River during the period of 1961-2009,rainfall and rainy days of erosive rainfall, heavy rainfall and rainstorm in this region were counted respectively.Based on research results of variation of sediment discharge in the Middle Yellow River, variation of different rainfall index were compared. Results showed that: (1) Mann-Kendall method were applied to analyze these elements trend.Though there are highly significantly decreased in both sediment discharge and natural runoff, there are no trend in different rainfall index of both regional area-average and single site.
