  Selenium has been recognized as an essential element for life.Many organoselenium compounds have been studied as biological models that simulate catalytic functions demonstrated by natural enzymes.Among organoselenium compounds,selenoureas and particularly selenoamides have received considerable attention owing to their importance as versatile precursors for the syntheses of a number of biologically relevant peptide and heteroeycles and also due to their varied reactivity.However,their applications in organometallic chemistry have hardly been explored.Therefore,we have investigated the reactions of PhNHC(=Se)NHPh,Et3N and Fe3(CO)12 with electrophiles EX.Accordingly,a new route to Fe/Se clusters has been opened up.
