广西钦州小董至板城一带,晚古生代沉积着一套二千余米厚的浅灰绿、浅灰色薄层夹中层硅质岩、泥质硅质岩夹硅质泥岩,含化石较少。广西区测队(1974)将这套硅质岩系分别划为泥盆系至下二叠统,上二叠统砾岩不整合覆其上。地质矿产部宜昌地质矿产研究所汪啸风(1977)报导,在小董那道村和板城倒流村发现早泥盆世笔石:Monograptus。uniformis,M.(M.)
