北伐军通过对武昌实施包括断粮在内的严密封锁,使武昌守军陷入弹尽粮绝的境地,从而实现攻占武昌的目标。然而,对武昌的持续围困,同时也致使武昌城内出现严重的食粮短缺,很多平民因得不到粮食而病死、饿死。武昌难民在这场浩劫中,依靠各民间团体进行了各种求赈活动,以期获得外界的援助。攻守双方因彼此利益分歧严重,难民救助问题数次难产。武昌民众在这场武昌围城战中付出了惨痛的代价。
The Northern Expeditionary Army has implemented the strict blockade of Wuchang, including cutting off food, so that the Wuchang defensive forces fall into the spot of exhaustion and food shortage so as to achieve the goal of capturing Wuchang. However, the continued siege of Wuchang also caused serious shortage of food in Wuchang City. Many civilians died of the disease and starved to death. In this catastrophe, Wuchang refugees relied on various civil groups for various relief activities so as to obtain external assistance. Offensive and defensive sides due to serious differences between the interests of each other, the refugee aid problem several dystocia. Wuchang people in this siege of Wuchang paid a painful price.
