A 3D unsteady state numerical model of heat transfer in the laser circular cutting of pipe was developed,using the self adaptive grids technology and periodicity boundary condition.The kerf width and the heat affected zone (HAZ) for different pipe diameters and different laser cutting speeds were calculated.The calculated results were in accordance with the related experimental results.
