马克斯·弗里施的小说《能干的法贝尔》中的记忆“发生”在多个层面上。在情节层面上,主人公对自己生活经历的回忆打上了历史印记的回忆,貌似客观,仔细读来,却充满了回避和压抑。在回忆话语层面上,作者通过对“不要给自己和他人画像”的审美旨趣的实践,展现了一个“片面的人”的形象。在这个人身上,启蒙运动以来极端化和僵化了的工具理性和实用主义思维方式得到了最大限度的体现。从这个意义上讲,作者与其讲了一个个人的悲剧,不如说是演示了现代人这个“角色”的悲剧。因此,“能干的法贝尔”的失败归根结底是储存于西方文化记忆中的工具理性的失败。
Memory of “Fighting Faber” in Max Frisch’s Novels On several levels. At the plot level, the hero’s memories of his own life experience marked by a historical memory, seemingly objective, carefully read, but full of avoidance and repression. On the level of memory discourse, the author shows a “one-sided man ” image through the practice of aesthetic taste of “Do not give self and others portrait ”. In this individual, the extreme and rigid instrumental and pragmatic way of thinking has been maximized since the Enlightenment. In this sense, the author is not so much a personal tragedy as a demonstration of the tragedy of the “role” of the modern man. Thus, the defeat of “competent Faber” in the final analysis is the failure of instrumental rationality stored in the memory of Western culture.
