Recently, I read Mr. Wang Gunmen’s article entitled “Half Crazy Zhang Taiyan” (see “Southern Weekend” on December 20, 2001). While sickening Mr. Wang’s penchant for infection, he also regretted Mr. Wang’s historical common sense. Mr. Wang said in his essay: “Half-crazy scholar, life is not changed.” Historian Gu Jiegang returned from studying in Europe that year, met the teacher Zhang Taiyan, talked about the western scientific experiments, emphasize all matters must be seen with their own eyes, be considered true and reliable. Old chapter then a curl one ’s lip, and asked:’ Do you have a great ancestors? ’Gu said:’ Teacher, how could I have no great ancestor? ’Zhang Taiyan said:’ Do you really have you see your great ancestors it? ’There is absolutely no comment on Gu’s words at one o’clock. "Whether the two commonsense mistakes in this passage are necessary to be identified are the same whether Mr. Zhang Taiyan said here.
