光纤通信技术的发展对光纤的标准系列化提出了迫切要求。在光纤标准系列化中,光纤的几何尺寸标准系列化是一个重要方面,因为它涉及到光纤、光缆的连接,光纤与光源、探测器的耦合等技术问题。目前,在光纤的拉制过程中,只能对光纤的外径进行实时控制,对光纤的芯径是无法进行控制的。光纤的芯、包半径比是由预制捧的芯、包半径比决定,拉丝过程中无法改变。因此为使光纤几何尺寸标准系列化,就必须使预制捧的芯、包半径比标准系列化。
