本文介绍了一种实现快速响应超扭曲向列液晶显示器(STN LCD)的新技术。采用低粘度向列材料,在占空因数为1/240的条件下使响应时间减少到50ms 以下,同时,仍保持锐的阈值特性。还对驱动方式进行了研究以避免对比度降低,快速响应LCD的“帧响应”现象通常会造成这一后果。结果证明,多线选择技术可以有效地解决这个问题。采用新型向列材科和新的驱动技术制备出5.7英寸彩色STN LCD,它的对比度、均匀性和响应时间等性能都得到改进。
This article describes a new technology for fast response super twisted nematic liquid crystal display (STN LCD). Using a low viscosity nematic material, the response time is reduced to under 50ms with a duty cycle of 1/240, while still maintaining sharp threshold characteristics. The drive mode has also been studied to avoid a decrease in contrast, which is usually caused by the “frame response” response of the LCD. The results show that multi-line selection technology can effectively solve this problem. A 5.7-inch color STN LCD was produced using the new NeoGraphics and new drive technology with improved contrast, uniformity and response time.
