The results of a light microscopy study showed that the process by which merozoites invade host erythrocytes is very rapid and that merozoites outside erythrocytes lose their invasive ability within a few minutes, so only a few of the ultrastructural findings about merozoite-invasive erythrocytes the study. Dadda et al. (1969) first reported the observation of murine malaria and malaria parasites in Malaria, Bannister et al. (1975) described the invasion of P. malai merozoites. This article reports the first case of P. falciparum merozoites infecting erythrocytes in vitro.
