在19世纪中期美国迫使日本门户开放之前,日本一直维持着只与中国和荷兰在长崎一口通商的体制,从18世纪末开始,美国和英国就试图打破这种体制,建立正常的贸易关系,但屡遭拒绝。在这半个多世纪的艰难交涉中,出现了不少今天看来非常有趣而当时却相当无奈的故事,七个普通日本水手有家不能回的经历是其中之一。
Before the United States forced Japan to open its doors to the door in the mid-19th century, Japan had maintained a system of trade with China and the Netherlands only in Nagasaki. Starting from the late 18th century, the United States and Britain tried to break this system and establish normal trade relations. However, Repeatedly rejected. During these half-century hard negotiations, quite a few stories that seemed very interesting and quite helpless nowadays have emerged. One of the seven ordinary Japanese sailors who could not return home was one of them.
