秦山三期重水堆核电站主要特点: 1.用天然铀作燃料压水堆的核燃料是U-235的低浓缩铀(3~4Wt%),而重水堆的核燃料可以用天然铀。这是因为重水堆是以重水作慢化剂和冷却剂的反应堆。重水的中子吸收载面小,慢化系数大,慢化性能好,中子利用率高,故可直接利用天然铀(U-235含量O.711Wt%)作燃料。主要优点有: (1)不需要花巨资建造铀浓缩工厂或从国外进口浓缩铀,这有利于无铀浓缩能力的国家发展核电:对于有铀浓缩能力的国家,节省的铀浓缩分离功可作为它用。 (2)从重水堆卸出的燃料燃烧得充分,U-235含量(约O.2Wt%)低于浓缩铀厂尾料的富集度,这样就不急于进行乏燃料后处理,可把乏燃料贮存起来,在需要时再提
