Recently, it was informed from Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of Hainan Province that the national food safety standards issued jointly by Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Health, “Maximum Residues of Pesticides in Foods” will be implemented on March 1. Compared with the original standards, the new MRLs reached 2,293 standards, an increase of more than 1,400. Before the promulgation and implementation of the Food Safety Law, a total of a dozen different standards in our country were involved in pesticide residue limits. After the promulgation and implementation of the Food Safety Law of 2009, the Ministry of Agriculture, in accordance with the law,
