巨幅刺绣壁画《长城万里图》,诞生于极为特殊的历史年代。长城万里雄姿由张仃先生独特的“焦墨”笔法绘就,又以独特的“南通彩锦绣”工艺绣出,大气磅礴、气势恢宏,至今仍保持着最大单件刺绣壁画的纪录。在《长城万里图》问世以来的30余年中,它展陈于北京长城饭店,至今仍在四海佳宾惊羡的目光中发挥着“北京名片”的作用。然而,学界对这一经典之作的历史贡献及其研制事实却很少述及,不但在当代公共艺术研讨中从未提起,甚至对于大多数身居北京的市民来说,它都是陌生的存在。
Huge embroidery mural “Great Wall Miles map”, was born in a very special historical era. The Great Wall Miles majestic by Mr. Zhang Ding unique “Coke Mexico ” strokes painted, and a unique “Nantong Caixin Embroidery ” embroidered, magnificent, magnificent, still maintains the largest single piece of embroidery murals record . In the more than 30 years since the advent of the “Great Wall Miles Map”, it has exhibited at the Great Wall Hotel in Beijing and still plays a role of “Beijing Business Card” in the eyes of all-envy guests. However, the historical contribution of the academic community to this classic and its development are seldom addressed. It has never been mentioned in contemporary public art discussions and even unfamiliar to most citizens living in Beijing exist.
