以准噶尔琵琶柴(Reaumuria soongarica(Pall.)Maxim)为外类群,对包括秀丽水柏枝(Myricariaelegans Royle)在内的柽柳科10个代表类群进行nrDNA ITS序列分析,并结合形态证据,对山柽柳属(Myrtama Ovcz.&Kinz.)的确立与否及其系统位置进行研究,得到如下结论:通过最大似然法和贝叶斯分析,构建了惟一的最简约基因谱系树,其中,柽柳属植物构成一单系分支,另一个为秀丽水柏枝-水柏枝属类群分支,并得到100%的靴带支持率;而由形态性状构建的系统树中,秀丽水柏枝与柽柳属植物聚为一支,并得到67%的支持率.综合形态、孢粉、植物化学及分子性状,认为将秀丽水柏枝独立成属,即建立山柽柳属,更为合理,但山柽柳属是否为杂交属有待于进一步深入研究.
