梅林作为第二国际重要的理论家和坚持“正统马克思主义”的哲学家,为坚持、阐释和捍卫马克思主义特别是历史唯物主义作出了很大努力。同时,他也是一位在理论上存在明显不足的思想家。分析梅林在历史唯物主义的传播与发展过程中为坚持和捍卫历史唯物主义所作的贡献,考察其在这一过程中所存在的不足,一方面可以促使我们深入理解马克思主义传播与发展的特点与规律,另一方面也可以启示我们正确看待马克思主义中国化的历史进程,自觉做到重构马克思主义理论与实践的统一,进而在新的时代背景下坚持、发展和创新马克思主义。
As a second important international theoretician and a philosopher insisting on “orthodox Marxism,” Merlin made great efforts to insist on, explain and defend Marxism, especially historical materialism. At the same time, he is also a thinker who is clearly deficient in theory. Analysis of Merlin’s contribution to insisting on and defending historical materialism in the process of the dissemination and development of historical materialism and examining its deficiencies in this process can help us to understand deeply the characteristics of Marxism’s communication and development On the other hand, we can also enlighten us that we correctly view the historical process of Marxism in China, conscientiously accomplish the reunification of Marxist theory and practice, and then insist on, develop and innovate Marxism under the new historical background.
