Objective To summarize the research progress of natural killer cells (NK cells) on the immune regulation of T cells in chronic infectious diseases. Methods The literature about the regulation of NK cells on T cells in chronic infectious diseases by PubMed, Embase, CNKI, CBM and Wanfang database was searched and reviewed. Results As an immune regulator of T cells, NK cells regulate the immune response of T cells through different mechanisms of action such as antigen presentation, secretion of cytokines and direct cleavage, playing an important role in the immunotherapy of chronic infectious diseases. Conclusion NK cells play an important role in the regulation of T cells, which may provide a new strategy for chronic infectious diseases, organ transplant rejection and immunotherapy of autoimmune diseases, which deserves further study.
