We are transitioning to next generation network environment (IPv6). It is an indisputable fact that both IPv4 and IPv6 network environments coexist. How to realize the communication between heterogeneous networks without sacrificing the advantages and conveniences of the existing network architecture is The main contents of this thesis are as follows: Based on the analysis of various heterogeneous network conversion mechanisms, a principle and instance of SOCKS based IPv6 / IPv4 conversion mechanism are given.
