Through the analysis of the material composition, mechanical properties and microstructure of the steam reforming furnace tube in the methanol plant of ethylene plant, the failure mode is determined as the creep damage at high temperature, and the main factors causing and affecting the failure of the furnace tube are found out. And the furnace tube repair and prevention put forward effective methods and suggestions
