沥青路面是用沥青材料作结合料粘结矿料修筑面层与各类基层和垫层所组成的路面结构。这种路面与砂石路面相比,其强度稳定性都大大提高。与水泥混凝土路面相比,沥青路面表面平整无接缝,行车振动小,噪音低,开放交通快,养护简便,适宜于路面分期修建,是我国路面的重要结构形式。路面典型结构就是在我国现行的路面设计方法的指导下,充分考虑工程地点的气候、地质条件和材料来源等要素对路面的影响,结合新疆当地的道路材料、交通和经济发展状况而制定的适应新疆地区不同交通条件的路面结构标准图,以使得路面设计图表化、规范化,优化路面结构设计。
