南阳县棉办为了防治棉花红叶茎枯病,并验证钾肥对棉花有增产和提高品质的效应。1984年试验示范施用钾肥1.9万亩,效果良好。结果表明:施用钾肥棉田比对照棉田的叶功能期延长20~25天;发病株率降低21%以上;增产7.4~36.5%;单铃重增加0.3~0.5克,底分增加0.5~1.8%,绒长增长0.7~1.7毫米,细度增加30~180米/克,成熟系统增加0.03~0.14,强力增加0.01~0.28克。这就说明棉田施用钾肥,不仅对防治棉花红叶茎枯病和增产有明显效果,而且有助于纤维品质的提高。
