Whether there should be a non-oncology unit in a cancer hospital has a different view in the academic community. This article tries to combine the relevant circumstances of our hospital and to discuss some superficial views. Our hospital was originally the Second People’s Hospital of Jiangxi Province, and it was rebuilt as Jiangxi Province Tumor Hospital in 1986. In view of the medical needs of the people near the hospital’s area, our hospital retained some non-oncology departments such as general, general, epidemiology, plastic surgery, gynecology, facial features, ophthalmology, and oral cavity, and formed the mainstay of oncology medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research. There is a new pattern of some non-tumor disease diagnosis and treatment functions. Through 12 years of practice, we believe that it has emerged as a special phenomenon in the development and construction of cancer hospitals. It is both beneficial and disadvantageous.
