心脏是人体中循环系统的一个由心肌组织所构成的空腔器管。而目前只把它看作是一个肌肉泵,仅提供机械能以推动血循环的中空动力器管是非常不够的。应该说心脏是一个结构错综复杂的生物学机器。因为心脏功能的各种重要的生理、药理及病理变化,实际上都起因于担负心肌搏动的物理及化学过程的改变。同时,心肌的每一细胞内都具有复杂的控制和效应机制。心脏的主要功能是不断地使腔静脉的血液进入心脏,然后又把血液推送到动脉中去。
