Objective To investigate the effect of low level lead exposure before and after birth on newborn birth weight. [Method] The blood lead levels of 156 infants were measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometer and the effects of low level lead exposure (<0.48 μmol few) on the birth weight of infants were statistically analyzed. Results The body weight of newborns with blood lead ≥0.48μmol / L was significantly lower than that of blood lead <0. 48μmol / L, respectively, a difference of 230g and 493g, the difference was significant (P <0.01). Conclusion When the neonatal umbilical cord blood lead levels ≥ 0.48μmol / L, can have a negative impact on fetal development.
