豹纹鳃棘鲈(Plectropomus leopardus),俗称东星斑,属鲈形目、科、石斑鱼亚科、鳃棘鲈属,为热带珊瑚礁鱼类。其肉味鲜美、营养丰富,同时艳丽的体色又赋予其很好的市场价值,经济价值极高,属名贵高档食用鱼类,具广阔的市场前景。近年来,有学者对豹纹鳃棘鲈的繁育及养殖等技术进行了系统研究。目前人工养殖豹纹鳃棘鲈饵料以鲜杂鱼为主,没有专门为其生长发育需要而设计的优质配合饲料。随着豹纹鳃棘鲈人工繁殖技术不断完善,人工养殖规模不断扩大,适宜的饲料开发相关问题日益显现。针对上述问题,笔者在工厂化养殖条件下开展豹 Leopard gills perch (Plectropomus leopardus), commonly known as the East Star spot, is a Perciformes,  Branch, grouper subfamily, gill perch species, tropical coral reef fish.
