据美国佛罗里达州未来住宅公司称,聚酯玻璃纤维复合建材是目前最先进的住宅建筑构料,可做成横梁、珩架、立柱等建筑构件。这种新型建材不同于制造浴缸的材料结构,用作新型建材的玻璃纤维是全部定向排列,纤维长度与构件长度一致,故此种构件强度超过钢材而自重比木材还轻,且耐火,耐潮、防白蚁,有透光性。
