继去年威尼斯双年展的350位中国艺术家的作品“大阅兵”之后,第十六届军械库艺术展也将大打中国牌,在聚焦展区中将主题锁定为“聚焦:中国”。该聚焦展区由尤伦斯当代艺术中心馆长田霏宇策展,其挑选了包括艺门画廊、前波画廊、没顶画廊、艾可画廊、天仁合艺艺术中心等16家中国本土画廊集体参展,其中大多数画廊是首次在亚洲之外参展。1913年在纽约69兵团的军械库内举办的轰动世界的展览,当时杜尚、塞尚、康定斯基、马蒂斯、毕加索等艺术家在75000名观众的面前重新定义了当代艺术,自此当代艺术正式在美国落地生根。由画廊主帕蒂·赫恩和柯林·德·兰德夫妇、马修·马克斯及保罗·莫里斯1994年发起的葛莱美西国际艺术博览会1999年迁到1913年艺术展的场地,遂改名为军械库艺术展。作为纽约最重要的艺术盛会之一,许多先锋、前卫的艺术家作品颇受军械库艺术展青睐。本届艺术展上将迎来29个国家和地区的200多家画廊的现代和当代艺术作品,众多有影响力的艺术世界成员将会把目光投向这里,中国艺术家们将如何抓住机会向世人展示他们的创造力,我们拭目以待。
