The “Architectural Design Benefits Symposium” jointly organized by the Chinese Architectural Society, Harbin Institute of Construction and Technology, Heilongjiang Institute of Civil Engineering and the Hong Kong Institute of Architects was held in Harbin on September 24 and 25, 1992. The conference was chaired by Zhang Qinnan, Vice Chairman of the China Architectural Society and Fan Dazhao, Deputy Director of the Construction Department of Ningxia Autonomous Region. The Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, Pan Chengbiao, Dean of the School of Architecture of the University of Hong Kong, Zhang Baili, the Director of the Department of Architecture of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Li Canhui, and the Senior Architect of the Hong Kong Housing Department, Wu Zhuoyi, made presentations at the meeting.
