宿主调节治疗(host modulation therapy,HMT)目前作为牙周病的一种治疗方法应用于临床。应用不同种类生物学机制的宿主调节药物可调节宿主对炎症反应产生的介质,如花生四烯酸的代谢产物、细胞因子、基质金属蛋白酶等。经过30多年的发展,牙周病治疗中宿主反应及其调节的临床意义渐受重视并得到初步证实,而对牙周炎症性质的新认识也为寻求新的宿主调节药物提供了多元的研究方向。本文就宿主调节药物在牙周病治疗中的应用现状作一综述。
Host modulation therapy (HMT) is currently being used clinically as a treatment for periodontal disease. Host modulating drugs that use different biological mechanisms regulate the mediators of inflammation produced by the host, such as arachidonic acid metabolites, cytokines, and matrix metalloproteinases. After more than 30 years of development, the clinical significance of host response and its regulation in periodontal disease has received more and more attention and preliminary confirmation. However, the new understanding of the periodontal inflammation has also provided diversified research directions for seeking new host-modulating drugs . This article reviews the current status of host-mediated drugs in the treatment of periodontal disease.
