布依戏,为国家公认的十八种少数民族剧种之一,流行于黔南、黔西南的南盘江流域布依族聚居的册亨、安龙、兴义等县。布依戏最早从祭祀仪式中的跳神活动中孕育出来,受广西壮剧和湖南花鼓戏、端公戏的影响,在布依八音、八音坐唱的基础上,逐渐由歌舞演唱形式演变成集音乐、舞蹈、器乐、杂技为一体的综合性艺术表演形式。一、布依戏的历史渊源自古以来,汉族、苗族集聚地跳端公很盛行。布依族与汉族、壮族、苗族居住地区毗连,有的甚至杂居一处,经济生活、文化生活等方面密切交往,跳端公等祭祀仪式随即传播,并成为布依族民间民族文化的一个重要组成部分。为了适合布依族的需要,布依“摩公”跳神使用了本民族的语言、歌舞、音乐、打击乐,表演来自布依族宗教祭祀的经咒、傩仪故事、古歌和说唱艺术,突出了布依族的地方特色
