In the DSDP field at 534 in the Black Bahamas basin, the most advanced drilling from the international phase of ocean drilling has led to a definitive period of expansion of the expansion center in the riparian gap at the North American Atlantic. The main age at which the Black Mountain Mouth was measured was the Kalov period (about 155 million years), which reflects the drift of the expansion center, which in turn marks the birth of the modern North Atlantic. This is about 20 million years younger than we used to think. One of the corollary of this result is the drift of this expanding center where the North Atlantic Rift began to appear, a time which may coincide with the need for expansion of the Gulf of Mexico break
