The calculation of the bearing capacity of an Eccentric Compression Member with a profile (including a T-shape and a T-shape) is basically similar to a member with a rectangular cross-section because the former is a combination of several rectangular cross-sections. The basic formula for calculating the bearing capacity of an eccentric compression member with an I-shaped section is still the following: (1) It is basically assumed that the member is a rectangular section. (ii) The calculated width b_f’ of the flange of the compression zone is the same as that of the bent member b_f’ of the T-section (see Table 1 on page 34 of the first issue of this publication, 1991). (c) The eccentricity increase coefficient η is still obtained by the following formula.
