Nitric oxide (NO), as a newly discovered neurotransmitter, plays an important messenger role in the nervous system. In addition, NO has some neurotoxic effects in some cases, leading to degeneration of neurons [1]. Retinal photodamage is also manifested as neuronal degeneration. We used NADPH diaphorase histochemical staining of rat visual
