As early as 1985, a friend of a painting industry introduced me to meet with Yang Yanjun. When I knew he had resigned from public office for the study of ancient and modern paintings in Nanjing, traveled to the mountains and rivers of his motherland for painting, and begged for advice and went northward to the capital. He greatly admired his courage. He later held many art exhibitions and showed me many hand-rolls he painted. There are very few people in the painting world who can draw a good hand scroll, so I attach great importance to him. The “Daning River Landscape Painting Volume” he created was once received by Li Keran, Qigong, Huang Miaozi and others
