Russia is a nation accompanied by misery. The 20th century Russia is even more suffering. Perhaps this kind of “gift” by God inspires the writer’s unique experience of suffering. As a result, there was once a deep, free voice on this land. Vassil Grossman (1905-1964) is just such a writer dedicated to a heavy spiritual mission. The novella “Everything is Moving” is a masterpiece of Grossman and a companion to his long book, “Life and Destiny.” The latter had a Chinese translation back in the 1980s. In the book “Life and Destiny”, which is a theme of the Great Patriotic War, the writer made an introspection of the history of the Soviet Union and the inferiority of the Russian nation. Thus, the book is also known as the 20th century “war and peace.”
